Do you have a list of transgender-specific services or agencies on file? How do you check to determine if specific resources are appropriate and welcoming?

4Feb 16, 2012 11:39 AMwe do have a list of resources, though there are not many that are trans-specific. to check that they are appropriate, we can call in advance and ask about their services. with other organizations, we may have a pre-existing relationship where we know they are appropriate.
5Feb 16, 2012 11:06 AMNot on file, but off the top of my head I can think of the MN Transgender Health Coalition. I check to see if they are appropriate and welcoming by looking at their choice of words and speech on their websites and campaign pages.

10Feb 14, 2012 12:35 PMYes. Usually it is based on previous history and experience with agencies that staff/volunteers/interns have had. If I am not familiar with an organization, I call and ask screening questions. I also tell clients if I know an agency or not and if I screened, what the agency told me.
